I’m hearing too many half sentences among legacy fundraisers recently, and it's bothering me 😒.

They're editing themselves.
Softening their approach.
Or saying nothing at all 🔇.
...mostly, I've noticed, in the presence of leaders.
We can build 🏗️ the right campaign, the right journey, the right proposition, and supporters will come.
But the thing is people give to people - the creative voices and written words behind these structures. That engages supporters at a deeper emotional level 💕.
What happens if legacy fundraisers are shrinking themselves? If creativity is restrained? If passion is moderated to feel “acceptable”?
If leadership environments make fundraisers feel they must filter themselves, that energy shows up in donor conversations, in copy, in stewardship, in asks.
And donors will feel it.
If we want braver giving, we need braver spaces. Spaces where fundraisers don’t just execute strategy, they feel comfortable to SHAPE it.
Because you can’t build something people will come to if the fundraisers building it no longer feel free to stand in it.
